It’s that time again, when you can add a little fun to your planned Valentine’s Day celebration. Celebrated on February 14 every year, it gives a chance to those couples willing to tie the knot; or those that are too shy to actually make an effort to declare their love for each other on this day. It is a time to also reflect and a chance to celebrate your affection for one another. Cape Town hosts some of the most beautiful spots where love birds can celebrate the day. Here are a few ideas:

Radisson RED – silo 6, Silo Square, V&A Waterfront

Celebrate in style at the rooftop bar, which will offer an all night dance night featuring the incredibly delicious chef’s menu to spoil you loved one. The theme is “contemporary punk”, so this is your chance to grab the award for best dressed.

Time: February 14, 5pm to 9pm

Price: Free Entry, but reservations are required

Two Oceans Aquarium – Dock Road, V&A Waterfront

The space in the aquarium will feature 40 intimate picnic spots dotted amongst the exhibits. Each private picnic will be kitted out for you, surrounded by a spectacular view of seahorses, sharks and fish. Your ticket includes entrance fee into the aquarium, on arrival drink and a picnic basket filled with cheese, pâté, hummus, a Caesar salad, fresh bread and a chocolate selection. Vegetarian options are available on request.

Time: February 14, from 7pm

Price: R650 per couple – book online

The Jagger Lounge – 74 Shortmarket Street Cape Town

Join in this performance of country-styled original songs by 2019’s finalist on ‘The Voice SA’, Amy Tjasink. You can dedicate a song to your loved one by placing a request on their Facebook page. One lucky couple could win a recording of their own love song written especially for them by Amy. Entry for this competition is on their facebook page as well.

Time: February 14, 7pm to 9pm

Price: R120

Chef’s Studio – Grub & Vine, 103 Bree Street

Learn culinary skills to become a chocolate master at The Chef’s Studio cooking station. Guests will make a chocolate explosion cake and a chance to learn how to temper chocolate.

Time: February 15, 9am to 1pm

Price: R1200 includes snacks, welcome drink and the cake made in class to take home. Online booking reserves your spot.

Whatever you decide to do on this day, make sure that it is special for the both of you. Happy Valentine’s Day.
