Jesse Clegg returns to SA for concert tour after US sojourn

Jesse Clegg just returned from two months of shows in Los Angeles, and went straight on tour opening for Daughtry in South Africa, and kicked off his three week #TAKEYOUTHERETOUR on December 14.

On Friday, December 28, the popular singer will be gracing Die Boer Theatre Restaurant in Durbanville.

Clegg is a South African Singer-Songwriter whose three studio albums, ‘When I Wake Up’, his 2011 follow up ‘Life On Mars’, and his latest album, ‘Things Unseen’, have made the young artist a platinum-selling success in his home country.

The son of iconic South African musician Johnny Clegg, Jesse spent the first six years of his life on tour with his father. He has released six Top 10 singles and toured extensively throughout South Africa. As an official ambassador for the Nelson Mandela 46664 foundation, Jesse was invited to play at Radio City Music Hall in New York for the annual Mandela Day Concert. He has been nominated for four South African Music Awards.

Jesse collaborated with his father in 2017 for the first time, writing a song titled ‘I’ve Been Looking’, which was released in March 2018. Jesse also performed together with Johnny for the first time ever, on the sold out International Final Journey tour.

After the widespread acclaim of his first album, Jesse’s music caught the attention of 3-time Grammy-winning Canadian producer David Bottrill (Muse, Tool, Placebo). The muso subsequently moved to Toronto for four months to work with Bottrill, who produced his second album.

In 2014, Jesse took his music to the international stage, and hasn’t looked back since.
