Many companies are moving away from hosting office parties and according to a survey by OfficeTeam, only 36% of professionals feel that company parties are fun. Rather than hosting a party after hours that about two thirds of staff would rather not attend, treat them to lunch. Harnessing its convenient location a few minutes from Cape Town’s central business district, The Table Bay’s Camissa Brasserie is now open for lunch, serving a menu that fuels collaboration in a stylish yet friendly setting. The restaurant’s crafted lunch starts with a choice of fresh salads and greens from the harvest table. The salads include innovative choices like rainbow beetroot salad, candied walnuts, blue cheese crumble and roasted sweet potato. These are followed by a homemade soup with a selection of home baked breads.

The hot buffet is a wonderland of familiar favourites with a contemporary twist. Expect delights such as short rib tagine with whole root vegetables; pan fried line fish with broccoli florets, dukkha crust and buttered cous-cous, and teriyaki chicken with roasted vegetables. There will always be something on the buffet for vegetarians, with dishes like butternut gnocchi with sauté mushrooms, crème fraiche and lemon thyme veloute, amongst others.

* Corporate year end lunches for up to 40 people can be hosted at Camissa Brasserie between 12pm and 2.30pm from Tuesdays to Thursdays. The cost per head is R260. Companies can choose to end the occasion with an indulgent signature dessert for an additional R40 per person.
