The season of giving is almost upon us and the organisers of the Festive Ideas Market are getting into the festive spirit with surprises, freebies, hampers and gift vouchers for market goers. The market takes place at the Simondium’s Country Lodge from Wednesday, 24 October, till Sunday, 28 October.
Several lucky draws will be done on a daily basis and prizes include a R1000 hamper from Antjie’s Handmade Naturals. This locally-rooted range of bath products showcases the best of essential oils and Fynbos botanicals in a variety of soaps, scrubs, lotions and salts.
Fabric fundis Samesyn will also be giving away a place at one of their one-hour workshop. They create magical linen such as tablecloths, runners, aprons and tea towels from photographs, which can be personalized with individual keepsakes and memorabilia to make the perfect gift. Samesyn will be conducting one-on-one workshops on Thursday and Friday (25-26 October) from 09h00 onwards. Market goers can bring their own props and the Samesyn team will help with the styling, shooting and editing of the image that will capture their specific memories. The workshop costs R500 per person and needs to be pre-booked at firstname.lastname@example.org (this includes entry to the market). Actual printing cost is not included.
Chef Mynhardt Joubert has also donated five decadent Christmas fruitcakes for one lucky visitor on each market day. These traditional fruitcakes have become hot items at the market and are guaranteed to sell out quickly. Guests can also enjoy daily happy hour sessions with free bubbly and farm fresh strawberries.
