On the False Bay shore, at the base of the Hottentots Holland Mountains, the picturesque village of Gordon’s Bay will again ignite with a spectacular display of lights for the “Winter Wonderland Festival” from Friday to Sunday, July 6 to 8.
“Winter Palace snow storms, live music concerts, talent concerts, arts, crafts and food stalls with festive fare, pancakes, gluhwein to hot chocolate, the enchanting fairy market, face painting, the Carnival Pub and exciting rides at the Fun Fair – all will delight the young at heart”, says Leon Theron, the Festival Organiser.
This annual event has become a major attraction on the Cape winter calendar. Winter is Gordon’s Bay’s ‘Secret Season’ – facing sunny north over False Bay, protected from cold west winds, the village is warmer than surrounding areas, making this the ideal winter break-away destination…even for Capetonians, only 50 minutes away.
On the Whale Route, with dozens of activities within a few minutes’ drive, Gordon’s Bay is an ideal base for your adventures. Guest houses are offering specials rates and Winter Wonderland is an ideal opportunity for visitors to stay overnight and enjoy the attractions.
