Global superstars The Script back in the Mother City

Famed Irish band, The Script, with songs like ‘Rain’ and ‘Hall of Fame’, are expected to pack out the Grand Arena, GrandWest for their live show on Wednesday, May 2. The Script is one of the world’s current most successful bands, having sold over 29 million records globally. They have three multi-platinum albums, all of which were number one hits in Britain.

“This three-piece band is sensational,” says Elouise Matthys, the PR and Promotions Manager at GrandWest. “Their ‘Hall of Fame’ song was a huge hit in South Africa; it is such a beautiful and inspirational song. We are excited to host these guys at GrandWest.”

The Script is one of the biggest live bands, having sold more than 1.4 million tickets to 203 shows all over the world. They have already had two sold out tours to South Africa: in 2011 and 2015. The band members are Danny O`Donoghue on vocals, Mark Sheehan on guitar and Glen Power on the drums.

“It’s great to have them back in South Africa,” said Matthys. “They really are rock legends.”

Doors open at 6.30pm, the supporting act starts at 7.30pm and The Script will start playing at 8.30pm.
