Capetonian “saxman” Don Vino ready to bring some local vibes

Music and especially jazz lovers can look forward to saxophonist Don Vino’s ‘#saxyvibes2’ live at the the Roxy Revue Bar at GrandWest Casino from April 18 to 21, and again from April 25 to 28.

‘#saxyvibes2’ is billed as Don Vino’s “personal journey as a Saxophonist”.

The passionate Capetonian from Elsies River started his musical journey at the tender age of 15. He has since performed with renowned local and international artists, and has made his mark in the ArtsSA sector as a collaborator, a philanthropist and business man.

Don Vinos’ recent sold out productions and his release of his single ‘Worried’ has created a demand for him to engage with his supporters and he answers the call once again with an “authentic show”, rooted in his personal story, profiling students whom he has taught in the brass section and then featuring the soulful singer/song writer Tye Platinum. Ever the showman, audiences can expect Don Vino to be his usual flamboyant self, with “amazing surprises” also promised.

Don Vino has not restricted himself to a specific genre of music and his repertoire will include Jazz and Gospel, to R&B and Afrikaans.

* Tickets are R150.
