The Little Giants Big Band live in Gugulethu

This Sunday, March 25, the Little Giants Big Band will perform in the Native Yards at Kwa Sec, NY 138 no. 52 in Gugulethu from 4pm.

This concert is supported by Concerts SA and will feature Muneeb Hermans (trumpet), Angelo Danster (trumpet), Dane Paris (trumpet), Jed Petersen (tenor sax), Lezaam Beets (trombone), Bryce Allie (guitar), Duncan Johnson (bass), Kurt Bowers (drums), George Werner ( keyboard) and guest vocalist Sakhiwo Noboza.

Concerts SA is a joint South African/Norwegian live music development project housed within the SAMRO Foundation and aims to build a vibrant live music circuit in southern Africa.

The Little Giants big band is the longest running community music youth group in the Cape Town. Since 1999, it has assisted in the development of more than 200 youths, many of whom have graduated into being successful performers in their own rights – Sisonke Xonti, Lwanda Gogwana, Shaun Johannes and Darren English, to name a few.

On Sunday, The Little Giants will be paying homage to many of their South African elders including Hugh Masekela, Chris McGregor, Johnny Dyani, Winston Mankunku, Robbie Jansen and co-founder Ezra Ngcukana.
