Black Coffee – Shimmy Residency

After his successful residency at Hi Ibiza, multi-award-winning DJ and producer, Black Coffee, returns to Shimmy Beach Club for a second season, with 5 Friday night shows. Black Coffee’s residency forms part of Shimmy’s annual Summer Calling campaign, and he is joined by a fresh lineup of local DJs, including Da Capo and Enoo Napo.

Jazz on the Riverbank

The town of Paarl plays host to Jazz on the Riverbanks, a child- and family-friendly event that sees guests enjoying a day of live music and entertainment. The event features 14 different bands, a designated braai and kiddies area, cash bar and beautiful scenery. I Maestri di Musica Benefit Concert

Xolane Marman presents a benefit concert to raise funds for his opera direction internship program at the National Theatre in Mannheim, Germany. Bass-baritone and head of Vocal Studies at the South African College of Music Patrick Tikolo joins baritone George Stevens, acting director of the UCT Opera School to accompany the final year student as he performs works by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Bellini, Schubert, Rossini and more.

Petit Carmen – Concert Version

Oude Libertas presents the concert version of popular opera Petit Carmen, as part of its Summer Season Festival. This production of one of the most popular operas in the classical canon is condensed to an hour-long work for this occasion, without compromising the integrity of the original work. All the highlights are presented in a chronological order, with the artists interpreting more than one role.

Christmas Carols at Kirstenbosch

The Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts presents four evenings of Christmas Carols in celebration of the festive season. The Christmas-themed sing-along concert series is the flagship project of the Rotary Club of Kirstenbosch and forms part of the organisation’s annual fundraising efforts. While each evening boasts a line-up of well-known local acts as pre-entertainment, the main attractions are the Cape Town Concert Brass and Male Voice Choir, who performs traditional Christmas tunes and carols.

Carols by Candlelight with a Touch of Folk

Traditional Christmas carols with a touch of folk presented by Hope City Church in the historic 6 Spin Street venue. The songs are performed by a band in keeping with the traditional words and interpreted with a touch of folk. Guests are invited to sing along and the music is interspersed with Bible readings and thoughtful reflection.  Candles are provided and drinks and snacks are served after the service.
