Tops at Spar Wine Show

GrandWest hosts the annual Tops at Spar Wine Show, which takes place, for the first time, in Cape Town. This outdoor lifestyle event targets both locals and holiday-makers at the busiest time of year, allowing them the opportunity to sample the wines from top local producers, such as Benguela Cove, without the hassle of driving a long way to get to the farms. Each ticket includes a tasting glass, all tastings and access to the Wine Theatre.

Gugulethu Reconciliation Race

The 17th Reconciliation Race passes key structures such as the remembrance stones for The Gugulethu 7 and Amy Biehl. Choose the 4.2km or 10km race and hand sweets to local kids along the route. Food and drinks are available at the finish line as well as spot prizes and a jumping castle.

Dinos Alive Augmented Reality

A new exhibition that combines the wonder and mystery of dinosaurs with cutting-edge technology so that visitors can experience what it must have been like to walk among dinosaurs. This exhibition appears almost empty to those outside the exhibition looking in – but once you’ve stepped inside and know what to look for, another world is revealed. Guests interact with Dinos, gather information using Augmented Reality, walk among Dinos in Virtual Reality, take virtual selfies and more.

Light Space Life – Architectural Exhibition

SAOTA present their first exhibition, Light Space Life, an architectural exhibition highlighting the company’s past, present and future work around the globe. With works in 86 countries, the gallery has been transformed to reflect SAOTA’s distinctive style and dedicated approach to design. The space is divided into regions – Southern Africa, West-, East- and Central Africa, Europe, Middle East, Australia and America – taking the viewer through the studio’s history and 30-year journey.

Darling Summer Beer Festival

Masters of Magic: Colin Underwood

Moët & Chandon Champagne Christmas Tree

Moët & Chandon invite the public to the unveiling of their Champagne Christmas Tree at the V&A Waterfront. The tree lighting ceremony is hosted by local celebrity, Maps Maponyane, and boasts an interactive 10-meter tall Champagne Tree, made entirely of over 1 500 recycled Moët and Chandon champagne bottles. In the festive spirit, attendees are able to send messages to their loved ones on the night.

Transformers Exhibition

GrandWest hosts the Transformers Exhibition, an immersive and interactive exhibition that features 14 animatronic Transformers, 9 sculptures scaled between two and nine metres and another 20 statues varying in size. They are made from reused car parts, metal and other repurposed materials. The exhibition also features a children’s area where young fans can have their photos taken.
