Cape Town will come alive on Tuesday, December 5, as thousands of superheroes take to the streets to participate in the Community Chest’s 35th annual Twilight Run.
Toiling through the city’s streets and risking blisters, cramps and stubbed toes for charity is a heroic undertaking. Therefore attendees are encouraged to dress according to this year’s theme – “be the superhero in your community”. All profits from the day will be donated to charities that operate in the Community Chest’s key focus areas including education, health, income generation and community development.
The iconic run/walk weaves along Long, Adderley and Strand streets, through the Company’s Garden, to finish at the Grand Parade. Local acts including Devon Saunders, The Unknown Dance Crew, Steven Lee Lewis and Dr Jules will provide the festive vibes and food vendors will provide meals and refreshments along the route and at the festival grounds.
So, those who want to enter the run/walk or best-dressed competition, taking selfies in seriously outrageous outfits along the way, need to get a move on and book their tickets now.
