River Republic

The third annual edition of River Republic is a camping boutique festival, where guests take a break and escape to the river to party the weekend away while local DJ’s and bands provide live entertainment. This year’s line-up includes The Kiffness, Nomadic Orchestra, Ben Dey and the Concrete Lions, BRYNN, Bam Bam Brown, Jackal and The Wind, Los Tacos and more. Also taking to the stage, comedians Anne Hirsch and Kagiso Mokagadi provide live stand-up over the weekend.

A Festive Summer: Pop Up Shop

The Shed at Overgaauw plays host to a day of shopping, entertainment and food and drink in celebration of summer. The selection of local fashion, accessory and lifestyle brands includes Jessica Anne, Sexy Socks, Lulu & Marula and more. The event also features a morning pilates class on the lawn and a special performance by popular indie folk artist, Majozi.

DirectAxis Walk for Hunger

DirectAxis presents a family fun walk in aid of Rise Against Hunger’s meal distribution initiative. The walk concludes with a festive food market and picnic area, live music and kids’ play areas at the finish line.

Toy Run 

The Toy Run is South Africa’s largest motorcycle ride, and it’s all for charity. Every year, tens of thousands of bikes rally together to give joy to the needy children of SA. Thousands of toys are strapped to bikes and paraded through the major capital cities. The public are invited to attend the main event to see the motorcycles, listen to live music by local bands, laugh at the comedy, shop at the stalls, have a drink in the bar area or partake in the other entertainment on offer.

Comedy in the Vines

Spier Wine Farm presents its Comedy in the Vines series featuring four of South Africa’s top comedians. Guests enjoy an evening of laughs, some wine and a summer picnic on the grass, under the stars. The line-up includes Schalk Bezuidenhout on 25 November, Barry Hilton in December, Stuart Taylor in January and Marc Lottering in February.

Volunteer Wildfire Services Open Day

The annual Volunteer Wildfire Services Open Day is back where the volunteers demonstrate their fire-fighting skills and raise awareness about wildfires. The event features a host of activities for children, including abseiling, snake displays, firefighting equipment, fire truck rides, tug-of-war, indoor and outdoor exhibitions, helicopters and the best dressed fire-kid competition. Food stalls, merchandise and kids firefighting toys are available as well.
