A Night of Arts & Opera

The Opera features performances by South African opera stars Zanne Stapelberg-de Lange and Minette du Toit-Pearce. The program also includes arias and duets from operas and operettas like Carmen, The Tales of Hoffman, Rusalka, The Merry Widow and Faust. There is also some Spanish Zarzuela arias and songs on the menu. The evening sees artworks being displayed by Harry Erasmus, Elize Engelbrecht, Susan Ellis, Junior Fungai, Gaynor, Juanita Louw, Francine Nepgen, Tania Olivier, Sandra Pelser, Paul van Rensburg and Nicola Stoffberg.

Masidlale Youth Orchestra in Concert

Budding musicians between 6 and 16 perform a programme of solo and ensemble pieces on stringed and woodwind instruments. The students from Gugulethu, Langa, Khayelitsha, Atlantis, Mamre and Nyanga are taught by members of Cape Philharmonic Orchestra. Masidlale was pioneered in the hope of transforming communities through music.

Mendelssohn`s Elijah – Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch Award-winning soloist and director, Magdalene Minnaar joins Minette du Toit-Pearce, Conroy Scott and Given Nkosi in a once-off delivery of Mendelssohn’s famous oratorio on the prestigious Endler Hall stage. The renowned Cape Philharmonic Orchestra and Libertas Choir create an accompaniment as lead by Johan de Villiers who founded Libertas and currently conducts the Stellenbosch University Choir.

Jeri Silverman at Blah Blah Bar

Blah Blah Bar presents a live performance by Jeri Silverman, backed by a full band. The New York-based singer-songwriter brings her emotive, haunting voice and soul-stirring melodies home to Cape Town for a few select shows. Silverman is supported by South African musicians James van Minnen (percussion), Adi Lazar (bass) and Nikolai Athiros (synths).

Celebrating Zimbabwean Afro Pop legend and his guitar, 65 year old Oliver Mtukudzi celebrates his 65 albums to date, with his old and new hit tracks. He will perform with his live band, The Blacks Spirits. He is a superstar and his guitar will get you up and dancing. Supporting acts will be rising Afro Pop sensation Shamie Mabvudzi and Friends!

An Evening with David Kramer & Arno Carstens

David Kramer and Arno Carstens perform live for one evening only at this intimate event, set in an idyllic private wine estate in Franschhoek. Pikkewyntjies/Penguinkidz Pre-School Bettys Bay musical fundraiser

Dr Bruce Copley is collaborating with cellist, keyboardist and teacher Barbara Kennedy in a special musical performance to help raise funds for school clothing for the 2018 Grade One leaners of Pikkewyntjies/Penguinkidz Pre-School Bettys Bay. Copley and Kennedy have enthralled audiences all over the world with their skilful musical compositions showcasing dozens of instruments from global cultures.
