Kids at the Centre
Embrace hosts an event for all Cape Town families, in celebration of young children in the Mother City. In honour of Universal Childen’s Day, a host of activities, such as LEGO, messy play, arts and crafts, circus acts, treasure hunts, hula-hooping, dancing, children’s theatre, reading corners and more are available at this family-friendly event. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket and packed lunch.

The Color Run
The annual 5km Color Run, where participants of all shapes and sizes go from wearing pristine white clothing to being covered in prismatic colour, is back. At each kilometre mark, a different colour of powder fills the air and covers the participants, creating an ever-increasing spectrum of colour and beauty. At the finish line, the colour festival kicks off and the air is filled with millions of vivid colour combinations as participants get in on the colour throwing fun as well.

National Cape Antique Fair
The National Cape Antique Fair sees a selection of top South African dealers come to Cape Town to celebrate antiques and interiors. Guests are invited to attend and browse the antiques, collectables, decorative arts, vintage clothing and jewellery, and interior design pieces on showcase. Expert auctioneers, Stephan Welz and Company, are on hand to appraise any valuables. The opening evening is held in aid of the charity South African Riding for the Disabled Association (SARDA).

Bottelary Hills Pop Up Lunch
Top chef George Jardine of Jordan Restaurant and Restaurant Jardine treats guests to a three-course, locally inspired lunch paired with slow-crafted wines at Mooiplaas Wine Estate. A wine tasting is presented prior to the meal which includes vintners from the area, including Hartenberg, Kaapzicht, Hazendal and Villiera. A bottle of Bottelary Hills wine is given to each guest.

A BEAU Day Out
Beau Constantia hosts a fundraiser in celebration of The Africa Foundation’s 25th anniversary, featuring top local music acts. In collaboration with Watershed, Majozi, The Kiffness and Chris Bertish, the event is raising funds to aid the building of classrooms in the remote areas of South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Kenya, Mozambique, Zanzibar and Tanzania. Guests are encouraged to Uber/taxi rather than driving through as the estate is closed to vehicular traffic on the day, with limited parking being available at Constantia Nek.

Art Deco Tour in Central Cape Town
Art DecoCulture Connect SA’s Art Deco tour focuses on examples of “moderne” architecture in Cape Town’s city centre. A walking tour of a range of buildings, from Mutual Heights (the tallest building in Africa when it was built, 1939) to Muller’s shop which is still an optometrist, its original purpose. The tour is led by heritage architect, Prof Andre van Graan.
