Artscape Theatre presents the Cape Dance Company’s dance production, Interplay, following their sell-out season at the Grahamstown Festival earlier this year. The company returns to Cape Town for its now eagerly expected annual season at the Artscape.

Die Dans Van Die Watermeid

Die dans van die watermeid het aangegryp met die beeldskone taalgebruik, die hartverskeurende verhaal wat Lekas vertel en die unieke blik op die mense uit haar grootwordwêreld in die skilderagtige Willowmore-streek in die dorre Klein-Karoo. Die gehoor was totaal oorrompel deur die krag en eenvoud van die teks. Die dans van die watermeid takel ook sosiale kwessies soos jong mense van vandag wat ’n stryd voer sonder die vooruitsig van werk of ’n beter lewe en die dinge wat gemeenskappe onder die mat invee.

Songs of this Soil

Songs of this soil speaks on the journey to democracy and the current status quo of the country. In a retaliating society; Politics and Faith and Faith in Politics comes under scrutiny. People are desperate for economic transformation. They find it hard to move forward with the modern world where leadership with integrity is lacking.
