Baxter Dance Festival

The 13th annual Baxter Dance Festival aims to provide emerging and established choreographers and dance companies with an opportunity to present their work. The 2017 programme includes performances by Moving Into Dance Mophatong, Charlie van Rooyen, Desire Davids and choreography by Kirvan Fortuin and Mthuthuzeli November.

After Ever After – Masque Theatre

The Masque Theatre presents a new children’s play by the Muizenberg Dramatic Society, After Ever After, a show for and with children that is suited for the whole family. This production shows audiences what happens after every fairytale and the characters live happily ever after. It is a colourful play with lots of sing-along songs and dance routines, and features the stories of Shrek, Elsa, Snow White, Puss in Boots, Pinocchio and more.

Police Cops in Space

The Cape Town Fringe Festival presents The Pretend Men’s critically acclaimed show Police Cops in Space as part of their programme. After his father is killed by an evil robot, Sammy Johnson, the last Police Cop in the universe, must team up with Alien fighter pilot Ranger and trusty Cyborg C9 as they embark on an intergalactic adventure across the galaxy to find Earth, avenge his father and become the best Police Cop in space.

Bunny and the Magic Hat

The Cape Town Fringe Festival presents the Bunny and the Magic Hat as part of its programme. In a backstage dressing room, the magician lays down his top-hat, hangs up his cloak and exits his quarters. Suddenly, a hungry Bunny pops out of the hat. Realising he is alone, Bunny attempts to make the ever-elusive carrot appear using the magicians wand. Unfortunately for Bunny, he finds himself being chased by a vicious tropical fish, a pair of mischievous magic balls and a terrifying tentacle from a denizen of the deep.

The Wizard of Oz Musical

The Cape Town Gilbert and Sullivan Society stages its 102nd production, The Wizard of Oz, at the Artscape Opera House. The Wizard of Oz focuses on a young Dorothy Gale dreaming of a perfect life over the rainbow. One day a twister engulfs her farm and carries her away to another world. This stage adaptation includes all the beloved songs from the classic 1939 movie musical, including Munchkin land, We’re Off to See The Wizard, Over the Rainbow and more.
