Winter Trail Run

Dirtopia presents the Winter Trail Run at Delvera Farm. The Simonsberg trail system is “one of the most spectacular” in Cape Town. The climbs are rewarded with singletrack on various terrain and views of the winelands. All finishers receive a medal and there is a lucky draw and prize giving to win wine from the area and other prizes from Cape Storm and Falke.

Lord of the Dance Workshop

The Lord of the Dance Dangerous Games presents a pop-up Michael Flatley Dance Academy Workshop. The workshops are for everyone to enjoy, guests are dancers, dance enthusiasts or simply want to experience the onstage world. The hour-long workshops include a welcome from the teachers followed by a chance to learn the Michael Flatley Dance steps onstage, with a sneak peek behind the scenes and a finish with a Q&A with members of the cast.

Fynbos Foraging

Veld and Sea presents Fynbos Foraging, an introductory half day forage and feasting experience guided by Roushanna and Gael Gray. Each individual class is different according to the season and availability in the gardens and the bush. Participants explore the gardens, discover and pick edible floral foods and fresh organic vegetables, where they forage for indigenous edibles, learn how to sustainably harvest them, utilise them in the kitchen, grow them in the garden and some of their medicinal properties.

Steenberg Charity Trail Run

Steenberg Estate hosts the 5th annual Steenberg Charity Trail Run, where participants run/walk a 5km or 10km to raise funds for Mdzananda Vet Clinic in Khaylitsha, a community project that cares for sick and abandoned cats and dogs. Participants are welcome to drop off pet items in the donation box prior to the start. All participants receive a glass of Steenberg Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc at the finish and enjoy a free wine tasting. A host of prizes sponsored by Adidas, Cape Waterfront Estates, Steenberg Hotel and Spa, Bistro Sixteen82 and Cathatrina’s are up for grabs.

50 Coffees is a blog series that follows Fiftyloop founder Lucia Dramat as she interviews dynamic South African women over coffee. Mushroom Foraging: Event 3

Veld and Sea presents Mushroom Foraging, a winter forest forage led by avid mushroom hunter Justin Williams. Participants need to bring a basket, pocket/pen knife, rain coat (weather permitting) and outdoor-friendly shoes. Ticket cost include notes, recipes, post-forage refreshments of nourishing mushroom soup, bread, aubergine and mushroom pate and warming herbal tea.

Artscape Women’s Humanity Arts Festival

The 11th annual Artscape Women’s Humanity Arts Festival aims to provide a space and platform where grassroots communities, women and persons living with disabilities are given the opportunity to feel celebrated and honoured. Each year the programme includes stage productions, exhibitor stalls, health screenings, entrepreneurial workshops, legal workshops, free legal counselling, a Humanity Walk and a Humanity Lunch table.
