SA wineries to show off their best at Capegate this August

Wine lovers can taste over 100 wines from 25 different wineries at the Capegate Shopping Centre’s annual We Love Wine showcase on August 25 and 26.

The festival kicks off at 5pm on the Friday evening and at 1pm on Saturday afternoon.

“This wine event has become a must-do for Northern Suburbs wine fans and we always aim to bring producers from all over South Africa’s winelands to our area,” says Capegate Marketing Manager, Amanda McCarthy.

“It’s not just about tasting and buying wine directly from the producers, but the Cape Wine Academy will present their free educational wine theatre experiences over the 2 days as well,” adds McCarthy.

The wine theatre will present winery-linked tastings like Perdeberg’s Barrels & Hops tasting, the Orange River Cellar’s Create your own wine Cocktails and Nibbles and Wine by Overhex Wines and Montagu Dried Fruit and Nuts. Themed tastings like Budget Beaters – Under R100 wines, Sweet Treats and The Diversity of Pinotage make up the rest of the programme.

Participating producers include: Badsberg, Bonfire Hill Wines, Bonnievale Wines, Deux Freres Wines, Devonvale Golf & Wine Estate, Front Row Wines, Fryer’s Cove Winery,  Haute Espoir, Imbuku Wines, Kingna Distillery, MWS – Montagu Wine & Spirits, Overhex Wines, Louisvale, Orange River Wines, Perdeberg Wines, Peter Bayley Wines, Roger Clayton Wines, Ruitersvlei, Stellenbosch Hills, The Fledge & Co, Triple Three Gin, Villiersdorp Cellar, Winkelshoek Cellar and Yonder Hill Wines.
