Concert in aid of families affected by Knysna fires this weekend

GrandWest will support and provide the stage for the Good Hope FM United in Hope Benefit Concert in which concerned South African entertainers will collaborate to raise funds and awareness for communities affected by the recent fires in the Western Cape. The Good Hope FM United in Hope Benefit Concert will be staged at the Grand Arena on Saturday, August 5, with proceeds raised through ticket sales to be donated to the Community Chest and The South African Red Cross Society.

Uniting on stage for this worthy cause are Locnville, Tresor, Chad Saaiman, Nasty C, Dominic Neill, Lakota Silva, Afrika Ablaze, New Hero, Can Skylark and many more. All of the artists are giving their time and talents pro bono to help bring hope to those whose lives have been impacted by the fires.

“Homes have been damaged, families have been displaced and there is a real sense of despair amongst those who are now faced with rebuilding their lives after the fires. We encourage our community to unite in bringing relief to affected communities by attending this concert. There is a stellar lineup of artists who will ensure an evening of spectacular entertainment,” says Elouise Matthys, the PR and Promotions Manager at GrandWest.

In addition to the music, the audience will also be treated to some authentically South African comedy by the likes of Dalin Oliver, Carl Weber, Conrad Koch and his brazen sidekick, Chester Missing. Good Hope FM presenters, Kyeezi, Danilo Acquisto, Dan Corder, will MC the event with entertainment veteran, Stan Mars.

* Tickets to the Good Hope FM United in Hope Benefit Concert at GrandWest cost R150 per person at Computicket. The five hour long variety show will start at 6pm, with the doors to the Grand Arena opening earlier at 5pm.
