Some of us like breakfast, some prefer lunch, but everyone loves a long and lazy brunch so Oude Werf in Stellenbosch is going to be pleasing dads and their families with their Father’s Day brunch on May 18.
Does the dad in your life have a sweet tooth? Imagine how his eyes will light up at the thought of a warm waffle dripping with maple syrup, heaped with lashings of crispy bacon and studded with golden nuggets of fried banana. Would he rather have something savoury? How about a spring onion, potato and broccoli frittata with mascarpone and crispy onion rings?
To follow, choose between chargrilled beef fillet with hollandaise sauce, fried egg and pan-fried potato cake, or smoked salmon trout with crispy ciabatta, camembert, avo and crème fraiche and a caper-and-tomato salsa.
Pudding is a double-chocolate brownie with whipped cream.
