Meet international tattoo artists at the South African Tattoo Convention in Cape Town
Cape Electric Tattoo in association with Show Horse Production will be presenting The South African International Tattoo Convention this weekend. The event will take place from Friday to Sunday, March 24 to 26 at the CTICC. Visitors can look forward to 78 of the world’s most renowned tattoo artists from nine continents, specialising in a variety of tattoo styles.
Attending artists include Holly Ellis from Idle Hand in San Francisco, Wan from Wild Rose in South Korea, James McKenna from Australia, and Big Steve from Fun City in New York City, to name but a few. The South African International Tattoo Convention aims to bring together a curated showcase of international tattooers and offer the public a chance to get tattooed by these artists. “The Tattoo Convention does not rely on pin up contests, performers or other such attractions to draw people; this show is for tattooing and as such, we are supported by the tattoo community itself,” the organisers have expressed.
“In tattooing there needs to be a mutual respect between tattooer and customer. Getting a tattoo should be a collaboration of ideas and skills. This is why doing research on which tattooer to approach for which design is a vital part of getting tattoo,” they further convey.
Tattoo Conventions offer this platform for people to look at different artistic styles and make the decision of what you want.
