Casper De Vries and his cast of characters to make their Somerset West bow
Casper de Vries will perform in Somerset West for the first time ever for one night only on Thursday, March 23, at The Playhouse Theatre. Cape Town fans can see his new show, ‘Casper de Vries – ALIVE & VROLIK’, is an “intimate” comedy show and will set out to prove of his skill as a comedian. In 2016 he was awarded the lifetime achievement award at the Savanna Comics’ Choice Awards and labeled “pioneer of South African comedy by his peers”.
Casper De Vries has for over 30 years been at the forefront of the Afrikaans comedy scene and his shows have “broken barriers on all fronts.” He has also performed in Australia, Canada, Holland and even sold out the London Palladium a couple of times. His Cape Town fans can look forward to being reacquainted with his many inimitable characters, with the likes of Blertsie, Oom Kallie Marie, Montelle, Gizelle, Patience and Hanno Gelderblom up close and personal with this solo show.
The show is mainly in Afrikaans, but does cater for all the new non-Afrikaans fans Casper De Vries has made through the years with appearances on Comedy Central, ‘Mass Hysteria’ 1 & 2, ‘Divine’ and ‘The Casper Radio Show’ on cliffcentral.com.
