KDay music festival with KFM

In the midst of the worst drought in recent years, more than 15000 Capetonians will take part in the world’s biggest rain-dance this weekend. The water-wishing crowd will be in attendance at the sold-out Huawei KDay music festival with KFM. Taking place at Meerendal Estate near Durbanville, the rain dance promises to be a sight to behold.

The idea was recently born on the KFM Breakfast show. Presenter Ryan O’Connor says it started as small, fun idea and quickly snowballed into something much bigger “The extent of the drought continues to impact on the lives of all Capetonians on a daily basis. I was receiving so many calls and Whatsapps every day from listeners concerned about the drought. We began asking listeners to send us videos of them performing a rain dance, before we knew it we were committed to this record-breaking idea,” says O’Connor.
