Arno Carstens to rock oldest SA wine farm

Be entertained by SA rock legend Arno Carstens while you enjoy a day of wine, bubbly and food on the lawns of one of Stellenbosch’s oldest wine farms.

Vergenoegd are hosting live summer concerts, featuring some of South Africa’s best musicians, every first Sunday of the month during the 2017 summer season. Arno Carstens will be gracing the stage on March 5. Each concert includes an opening act and access to a selection of food and wine vendors.

The platinum selling, award winning singer-songwriter has released 12 albums in total in a career spanning two decades: five as lead singer of Springbok Nude Girls, one as part of Electronica project Bell Tower and six as a solo artist.

Carstens has had over 20 top ten singles and won 5 SAMA Awards, including Best Rock Album in 2004 for ‘Another Universe’ and Best Adult Contemporary Album in 2006 for ‘The Hello Goodbye Boys’.

During his 20 year career, Carstens has performed with U2, The Rolling Stones and REM, among many others; headlined every major South African music festival; and performed at some of the most legendary and exclusive international music festivals including Isle of Wight, Glastonbury and Hard Rock Calling.

In September 2016, Carstens released his debut Afrikaans album, and to honour his roots, called it ‘Die Aandblom 13’. The thirteen tracks tell loosely fact-based stories about who he is and where he’s come from; he grew up in Worcester at Aandblom Straat 13, and still goes there as often as possible.

VIP packages are also available for the concert on Sunday. Included are two tickets; VIP parking and entrance; designated area; comfortable seating; private toilets; a picnic basket with two bottles of Vergenoegd Runner Duck red, white or rose; a selection of foods; a 750ml bottled water; and an exclusive Vergenoegd blending experience voucher.

* Vergenoegd Wine Estate is situated on Baden Powell Dr, Stellenbosch.

Gates open at 11am and the day festivities are expected to last until 6pm.

Tickets cost, R120, R50 for Under 12’s and VIP tickets are R550. Tickets can be booked at
