Committie’s back for the holidays with ‘Laughing Matters’
After a down-to-the-last-seat, completely-sold-out season of ‘Love Factually’ earlier this year, master comedian Alan Committie is back in the Christmas slot at Theatre on the Bay until January 14. In a new 2-hour stand-up show directed by Chris Weare, Committie will unpack the importance of seeing the funny side of everything because, according to Committie, “Ultimately, everything is a laughing matter.”
Topics range from the Pokemon Go craze to #feesmustfall. Johan van Der Walt makes an appearance to explore the history of pop music, and the evening culminates in a tribute to the Olympic Games that includes the finer nuances of javelin throwing.
The show runs Monday to Thursday at 8pm and 8.15pm on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday December 31 the show is at 9.15pm. (No shows on December 26 and January 2.)
Ticket Prices range from R120 to R180.
