Lana Crowster will be serenading the crowd at Mother City Live on Saturday, November 26. “I’m so thrilled to be part of such an exciting festival. It’s growing and I believe it’s necessary. Cape Town has lots of talent and not enough platforms to showcase it. Mother City Live provides the platform for us to do what we love and in turn entertain the people of Cape Town,” said the singer.
Mother City Live is going all out and is determined to live up to its claim of being Cape Town’s most diverse family friendly food and arts festival. “Expect a jam packed show and a performance filled with high levels of energy from me,” said the singer. She will be performing original songs and a few cover songs.
When asked about her preparations leading up to the show this is what she said, “Athletes run every day in preparation for a marathon. I do the same; I sing everyday be it for 30 minutes or for an hour. I also make sure I exercise. I might not be gym fit ( giggles) but I’m surely stage fit,”.
Those who grew up with her know her as a jazz singer and those recently introduced to her know her as a pop singer, nevertheless, Crowster was born to sing. She is currently working on her single which she plans to release soon. The single is more in the direction of where I want to go with my music; it’s hip pop meets neo-soul,” she said.
The ambitious 29-year-old said the what keeps her grounded in an industry where it’s easy for one to lose themselves and forget about what’s important, is her pursuit for her goals. “I’m the kind of person who set goals and as soon as I achieve one goal I move on to the next one. My grind keeps me humble, said Crowster.
Crowster will be sharing the stage with Cape Town sensation Jimmy Nevis who will be headlining, along with prominent local talents, including YoungstaCPT, Opposite The Other and Grassy Spark.
The line-up also gets the international treatment with Zimbabwean hit maker Tehn Diamond having been added to the bill.
The festival forms part of the Woodstock Live 2016 series offering in Trafalgar Park. Their objective is to creative socially inclusive events which reignite the use of this historic space.
