A first for South Africa, The Burning Carnival World Tour will kick off in Johannesburg on Saturday, October 29, at the Mall of Africa in Midrand.
This unique festival fuses music, entertainment, costumes and self-expression, with three special themed tents, a large central arena, an art tent, a VIP dinner table with three course meals prepared by an international chef, fun and entertainment park, and a therapeutic sunset letter burning ceremony to let go and move forward. Guests will have the chance to dress up according to their own fantasies, themes, imaginations and creativity, making this event an ultimate celebration of expression.
Burning Carnival organiser Stephan Dau (creator of worldwide events like Holi One and The Grand White Dinner) says, “We create a feeling of optimism, love, fun and togetherness. We want people to discover themselves and celebrate love and life with their best friends to express themselves and impress others with their costumes and behaviour, with an opportunity to shine. It’s a great big fantasy world for adults.”
Some of the headlining acts confirmed are SA artist Daniel Baron, known for his dance music hit, ‘Children of the sun’; and GoodLuck, one of SA’s most exciting live electronic bands
At sunset, there will be a healing, uplifting burning ceremony. Guests are invited to bring along a letter that represents any aspect of life that they would like to release. As a group, letters and past obstacles will be symbolically burnt, allowing a sense of freedom as the group moves onward together. This main event is aimed at inspiring optimism, togetherness, love and letting go.
There will be a number of carnival rides and booths at the Fun Park. There will also be a small market, offering supper tables, food and other unique items.
