Groote Post’s end of month Country Market to feature Trail Run

Groote Post invites everyone to head out to the Darling Hills for their October Country Market on Sunday, October 30.
In addition to the delectable and country offerings, live music and kids’ activities at Groote Post’s monthly markets, their October market will feature a Trail Run for the whole family.

The Trail Run:
Visitors can choose between the following options, featuring breathtaking views of mountains and the ocean:
18km Bobbejaanberg Challenge – Entry cost: R180
13.5km Atlantic View – R150
4km Ommie-Dam Fun Run – R80

There will be shower facilities available, as well as a supervised Kid Zone available to care for children while their parents are running, at R80 per child. Registration to the Kid Zone opens at 7am. The first 100 online entries will receive goodie bags. Registration opens at 7am, with the 18km run starting at 8.30am; the 13.5km run at 8.45am; and the 4km run at 9am.
(Entries can be done by visiting www.entryninja.com.)

As for the market, guests can expect delectable country offerings including artisan foods, arts and crafts, as well as home-ware and décor. All the old favourite stalls will be back, as well as some new exciting ones. Local, of course, is always lekker in Darling with locals presenting a selection of gourmet produce including breads, cheese, mushrooms, charcuterie, wors, sauces, olive oils and more. And of course Groote Post’s well-loved wines and popular craft beers from Darling Brew.

Kids should love the rolling lawns, tractor rides, face painting, water-balls and target-shooting, to name but a few of the activities that will be available.
After browsing through the market, visitors can relax in the shade under the trees, while tucking into their eats from the market and enjoy live music by Francois Haasbroek, who will be back again by popular demand. Groote Post’s award-winning restaurant, Hilda’s Kitchen, will be open as usual, but please note: booking is essential.
Pets are welcome, but all dogs must be on a leash at all times. Visitors arriving without their dogs on a leash will be given an option to buy one from the SPCA stall or hire one at the information stall.

Entry to the Groote Post Country Market is free of charge.
Opening hours: 10am to 3pm
Groote Post Country Market dates for the rest of the year:
