With the seasons a-changing, proudly South African – and KZN-based jazz and popular music band – 5th Season will be jazzing up SUNCOAST’s Sunday Beats this Sunday, 25 September from 2pm, despite the wet weather forecasted for this weekend.
The four-piece band will be showcasing its variety of well-known jazz standards, contemporary jazz and SA jazz favourites for local music-lovers to enjoy.
5th Season consists of guitarist Mthunzi Mchunu, bass player Brayden Hore, drummer Devon Hare and vocalist Janice Joseph. The band has seen their recently-released debut album, titled Symmetry, added onto the Vuma 103 FM radio playlist. The compilation is an eight-track CD containing up-tempo tracks such as ‘Beautiful Love’ and ‘You’ve Got a Way with Me’.
“We are excited to be performing once again at Suncoast’s Sunday Beats this Sunday,” says drummer and founder of 5th Season, Devon Hare. “We are looking forward to performing a few songs from our debut album Symmetry, along with other well-known jazz classics from South Africa and abroad. We hope Durbanites will come out in their numbers to enjoy our sounds and rhythm this weekend.”
Sunday Beats are Suncoast’s free and fun monthly musical sessions that take place twice a month. It is great entertainment and a showcase of the musical talent that abounds in and around Durban and KwaZulu-Natal.
“Sunday Beats are definitely a perfect way to end off a weekend.
