Step into a flowery fantasy world at Witness Garden Show

Whether you are looking for that special plant to add to your collection or just fancy stepping into spring for a while and taking home a stunning orchid for the table, The Witness Garden Show 2016, might just be tailor-made for you. Taking place at The Royal Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg from Friday to Sunday, September 23 to 25, the showcase promises something for “everyone”, with a new improved kids zone to boot

Gardening celebrity Tanya Visser and The Gardener magazine have taken over the marketing and managing of Pietermaritzburg`s venerable Garden Show and will be presenting a fresh new event this year. A show of this heritage deserves respect, but Visser and her team will be adding their own funky twists to complement the show’s traditional values, as well as a new look and attractions.

The Moms, Tots and Pops Expo will showcase all things kids from babies to teens. Other highlights include the Spirit of Spring Canine Spectacular where more than 600 purebred dogs of various breeds will be judged and there will be dog agility, dog carting and dancing on show for animal lovers.

The feature gardens are always a highlight of the show, with garden designers putting all their expertise into creating fantastic gardens to the theme of this year’s show: Fashion Fantasy. Orchestral music will fill the plant and flowers-packed hall to add an extra touch of class.

The Floral art Indaba also promises to be a highlight, as artists show off their spring displays. All the usual features that Witness Garden Show regulars have come to expect will be back, including beautiful quilting; inspiring cake decorating; 4×4 track; arts and crafts; and shopping galore, from plants and gardening equipment to the latest gadgets and gardening goodies.
