The 2016 Coffee and Chocolate Expo is launching in Cape Town for the first time this weekend, following positive reviews from the most recent show in Johannesburg. Taking place at Green Point Cricket Club on Saturday and Sunday, September 24 and 25, the approximately 10000 expected visitors can look forward to a “visual extravaganza” and an opportunity to sample some of the SA’s finest coffee and chocolate delights.
The showcase will feature several differently themed areas, offering over 80 Coffee & Chocolate products to experience, taste and buy from some of SA’s finest chocolate and coffee specialists. Visitors can learn tips, techniques and latest trends from the masters on how to create their own chocolate and coffee delights; put their taste buds to work; or simply unwind in the relaxing atmosphere.
New visual and experiential areas include:
● Mardi Gras Experience: Home to the Pairing Theatre, pairing whiskey, wine and liqueurs with chocolate. Sample, taste and celebrate all things delicious and decadent.
● Steampunk Experience: Home of the Coffee Theatre, visitors will be able to watch how to make a great cupper from the SA Barista Champion 2016. This is where you can become an instant coffee snob by learning the history and origins from bean to cup.
● Daily News section: Home of the Chocolate Workshop, presented by Beyers Chocolates. Take a seat and chill while getting clued up on all manner of chocolate culinary delights, with chefs on hand. This is the spot for the latest chocolate trends.
● Cocoa Mokka Music Lounge: This area will celebrate SA’s up and coming artists, headlined by The Motherland Band, amongst many others. Chill with friends and family, sipping on your favourite Chocolate Beer or Coffee and Chocolate wine, whilst listening to vibey sounds. Amongst the acts performing will be The Kiffness, Richard Stirton and Freshlyground.
