Cape Gate’s annual 5km fun run and 10km race will take place on Saturday, October 1. All 5km proceeds will be donated to the Clicks Helping Hand Trust.
Every Wednesday morning they offer free blood pressure, cholesterol testing, glucose and HIV testing and counselling for people without medical aid. Thursday afternoons are dedicated to Well Baby and Family Planning services to mothers and their babies born in state clinics with no access to medical aid.
They are also active in local communities through the “Girls on the Go” campaign, in support of the purported 2.5 million girls in the country who miss school every month due to the lack of basic sanitary wear.
Join the expected 3000 runners and walkers for a fun morning in aid of a great cause. Pets, prams, and large groups are welcome to enter the 5km fun run and walkers are also invited to complete the 10km event.
The Capegate Clicks Charity Run offers R30000 in cash to the first places in the 10km run, a spot prize of R10000 open to all, which will be drawn during the prize giving ceremony.
Entry fees range from R20 per person for the 5km, to R65 for unlicensed athletes in the 10km.
