Movie lovers are in for a special treat over the next couple of months: they will be able to watch cinematic greats while sitting under the stars, wine glass in hand, at Spier Wine Farm.
One of the oldest wine farms in South Africa will be hosting relaxing movie viewings on the Werf lawn under the stars, screening a selection of award-winning films.
Having started this past weekend, September 3, and lasting until to January 2017, Spier will be hosting outdoor picnic and movie evenings at their estate.
Not only will you be able to enjoy the views of a Stellenbosch wine farm, but some great movies as well.
The film schedule is:
Saturday, September 17: ‘A Beautiful Mind’
October 22: ‘The English Patient’
November 12: ‘Forrest Gump’
November 26: ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’
December 10: ‘The Incredibles’
Friday, December 16: ‘Notting Hill’
Saturday, December 17: ‘Tangled’
Sunday, December 18: ‘Shall We Dance’
Saturday, January 7: ‘Out of Africa’
There is also the added bonus of picnic food. For only R500, you could get a basket (that will feed two) filled with loads of yummy gourmet goodies that will make your movie experience even more memorable. The basket, filled with love by Eight to Go Deli, will feature time honoured movie snacks and is finished off with a bottle of Spier Signature wine. Build some movie memories in the outdoors this spring and summer.
Tickets for any of the screenings are available online at Quicket.co.za for R100p/p. Children’s tickets cost R70p/p. The picnic basket needs to be booked in advance (and can be done so through Spier.co.za).
