Now in its 11th year, the Mother Of All Parties, the annual closing party for the SA Music Conference, is stepping it up a notch this year.
Having announced the involvement of multi-platinum-selling sensation Chris Brown, local promoters have also confirmed the complete local line-up in addition to three international acts.
Talented American artist Tinashe will join the line-up for the concert, taking place in Durban on Saturday, July 2, at Growthpoint Kings Park Stadium. Having started her career at the tender age of three, this American born performer with Zimbabwean roots is no stranger to the entertainment industry. Tinashe is a well-rounded performer who in addition to her singing exploits, also models, acts, produces and dances.
Also confirmed is the sultry Grammy award winning rapper and US actress Eve.
The stellar list of handpicked local talent includes some of SA’s most recognisable performers. The Dju Stage will feature DJ’s Oskido, DJ Fresh, Vinny Da Vinci, Greg Maloka and Christos Katsaitis and a number of local artists.
The local line-up will be rounded out by the following acts:
• BET nominated rapper Cassper Nyovest
• ‘Leader of the New School’
• Riky Rick
• Super producer Anatii
• Award winners Emtee and Fifi Cooper
DJ favourites the KOTW will also share the stage with Mabala Noise’s own Chynaman, Du Boiz, Jay Spitter, DJ Bongz, Ms Jones and L’Vovo.
To add that old school flavor, the Detroit hip hop outfit Slum Village have also been confirmed.
With the mixed house and hip hop star-studded line-up performing on three different stages, The Mother Of All Parties promises to be the kind of event that brings the city to a standstill.
Brought to SA by DJU in partnership with Mabala Noise Entertainment and Back To The Oldskool in association with Channel O and the City of Durban, the Mother of All Parties is expected to attract over 15000 concert revelers.
The Mother Of All Parties serves as the capper to the SA Music Conference, the brainchild of the DJU – Vinny Da Vinci, DJ Christos, DJ Fresh, DJ Oskido, and Greg “The Maestro” Maloka.
Like they have been doing in the last 12 years, the five iconic music industry brands – who are involved in the music industry in many spheres – have primed the conference as a launch pad for empowered and informed new brands, with longevity in the SA music industry for local artists being the intention of the organisers. Well known acts like Black Coffee, DJ Shimza, DCuloe De Song, J Tira, Heavy K have benefitted from the Conference in the past to become industry success stories.
Supported by Arts & Culture, Durban Tourism, media sponsors SABC1, and SABC radio, SAMC hits Pietermaritzburg for the first time this year. With entry now free to attend the conference, the Conference kicked off at the Winston Churchill Hall in the city on Wednesday, June 29. The conference then moves on to Zorka Lounge on Florida Road in Durban on Thursday, July 30, and Friday, July 1. Registration is at 10am on all Conference days, and seats are reserved on a first-come first-served basis.
