A visit to The Wedding Expo at the start of your wedding planning adventure will ensure that you are able to meet multiple service providers in one place. This stops the run around from supplier to supplier and allows you to create a short list of suppliers that you can either book, or meet with later.
We asked a few exhibitors to provide tips for planning your wedding. You will be able to meet each one at The Wedding Expo on June 11 and 12 at the CTICC.
Jade Wollgraaf of Jade Customised Events, provide two special tips to remember when talking to your venue:
• Be aware that when a venue talks about maximum capacity, it may not include space for a dance floor. Don’t wait for set up to know the answer.
• Remember VAT. Not being clear on whether ALL the prices include VAT can serious cripple you when you receive the final bill with 14% added on.
Leah El Mekkaoui from Leah Francisca Bridal cautions that when it comes to your wedding gown that just because a style suits you in regular fashion wear, doesn’t mean that the same applies to your wedding gown. Wear what makes you happy and not what people expect you to wear.
Radiefa Peters from Radz Photography suggests you have a pre-wedding shoot as it helps to get you comfortable with posing and being in front of the camera. Finally, don’t forget to include your service providers in the catering, and most of all, don’t forget to feed your photographer – they are working after all.
Perhaps the top tip for visiting The Wedding Expo is this – plan to spend a long time at the Expo, so that you can meet with as many exhibitors as possible. Don’t miss the chance to listen to the experts on the Fashion Theatre stage and take notes.
