It promises to be a rocking weekend at Parker’s Comedy & Jive – The Home of SA Stand-Up Comedy, at Montecasino.
The show at the club this weekend features Dillan Oliphant (Thursday to Sunday, February 25 to 28) who recently won the ‘Roast-Off’ at the Comedy Central International Comedy Festival, which was staged at Silverstar Casino in December last year. Oliphant was up against top names in SA comedy plus of course legendary US comic Jeff Ross.
Donovan Goliath (Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) presented the ‘SA Bake Off’ on TV with Annie Hirsch recently and is part of the popular Goliath and Goliath Comedy Experience.
Farhan Esat (Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun) is an up-and-coming young comedian on the circuit and the MC for the weekend is the ever-popular Vittorio Leonardi.
If there was a King of Comedy award, the recipient would surely be Mel Miller. Timeless, adored and enormously funny, this giant of stand-up has been tickling the funny bones of South Africans for years and years and will be performing on Friday.
Miller has been crossing the (sometimes delicate) lines of age, culture and colour for as long as comedy fans can remember; and his audiences continue to thrive on his particular brand and humour.
