Javier Tebas, the renowned President of Spanish football league, LaLiga, will be in Cape Town on Saturday, February 27, for the first official Free Fan Day, which will be held at the Sea Point Promenade.
“Part of our current intense global expansion strategy is to take LaLiga to more regions around the world; this may well lead into playing games in other countries, and I am extremely excited for Cape Town, South Africa to be first on my list of cities to visit in 2016,” says Tebas.
His visit will be to experience the beauty of Cape Town and the Mother City’s hospitality for the first time while watching Real Madrid take on Atlético de Madrid with local LaLiga fans, but also to return our warm hospitality by launching a competition at the fan event to take one lucky football fan and a partner to experience Spain and LaLiga firsthand by attending a game next season.
All that is required to enter is to come down to the free fan event to stand a chance to win.
Visiting Liga BBVA ambassadors, Gaizka Mendieta and Patrick Kluivert, will also be in attendance, plus a host of local legends including Stanton “Stiga” Fredericks.
The event kicks off at 1pm with soccer clinics for the kids, international legend signing sessions, games and competitions and much more.
