SA and Nigeria unite to celebrate the best in African entertainment

Africa Magic and MultiChoice in association with Amstel Malta, have announced the two hosts for the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs). The multi-talented, fan-favourite IK Osakioduwa returns to host the awards for a fourth time and he will be joined by a new co-host, Minenhle ‘Minnie’ Dlamini.

Dlamini might be new to a lot of Nigerians, but she is referred to as the ‘Diamond girl’ in South Africa. Dlamini was in Nigeria recently shooting two covers and press pictures for the prestigious awards show.
In April 2013, Dlamini ventured into the world of sport, ultimately spearheading the current trend of merging sport, entertainment and lifestyle. In the eight months that followed, she co-hosted some of the biggest sporting and lifestyle events in South Africa.

Speaking on the announcement, Dlamini said: “I am very excited to be on the biggest platform for celebrating talent in Africa. The AMVCAs recognise and celebrate film and television talent across Africa, and as a proud African, I am truly delighted to play a role in this celebration.”
Dlamini will take the stage alongside IK on March 5 to present the fourth edition of the AMVCAs to viewers across Africa and the rest of the world. The AMVCAs will be broadcast live on all Africa Magic channels on DStv and GOtv.

Nominees for the 2016 AMVCAs were announced on December 11, 2015, and public voting closes on Friday, February 26. There are a total of 26 voting categories for the 2016 AMVCAs and viewers can vote up to a hundred times on multiple platforms including Wechat, mobile and web.
