The 13th annual Suidoosterfees will be taking place from April 27 to May 2, with this year’s them being “District 6”.
There will again be a little something for everyone in the form of drama, comedy, cabaret, dance and lots of free entertainment.
Productions will be presented at the Artscape Theatre, Fugard- and the District Six Museum Homecoming Centre.
Exciting shows already confirmed for the festival include: ‘Emo Adams Is Duidelik’, David Kramer in ‘Onder die Spanspekgeel Maan’, Shaleen Surtie Richards in die ‘Woema van ‘n Windgat wyfie’, Laurika Rauch and Elvis Blue in ‘Hart & See’, and even a brand new drama titled ‘Kristalvlakte’ including Ilse Klink, Brendon Daniels, Dean Balie and Royston Stoffels.The second annual Suidoosterfees Talent Search/Talent Search also started at the Joseph Stone Auditorium in Athlone on Saturday, February 6.
The next rounds will take place on Saturday, February 13, in Khayelitsha, February 27 in Langa, March 5 in Delft, March 12 in Malmesbury, March 19 in Mitchell’s Plain, April 2 in Wellington and on April 16 in Brackenfell.
