The music concerts of the Academy of St Andrew are resuming d. The series will present a concert a month, (with the exception of January and July), and that a wide selection of musical genres be offered.

Ottoman Slap won an Ovation Award at the Grahamstown Festival last year and has participated for

three years in Rocking the Daisies and the Cape Town World Music Festival. Vocalist Simone Chiara sings in Spanish and Romany, and the band plays music from Spain, Andalusia, the Balkans and Turkey, and includes Middle Eastern, Arabic, Sephardic and Klezmer items as well as its own compositions. Their concert at Christ Church Constantia in December last year was sold out and rapturously received.
