Shreya Goshal, “The Queen of Melody”, will set out to astound Jozi audiences when she performs live at Emperors Palace on Sunday, February 14.
This multifaceted singer began her career with Zee TV on a singing competition show called ‘SA RE GA MA PA’ at the young age of eleven, which she went on to win. Her presence on the show caught the eye of famous film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which served as a stepping stone to greater ventures for the singer. Shreya has evolved from only singing Bengali songs to singing in various languages, which has resulted in her winning awards around the world.
After playing the voice over of “Paro”, the lead female character in the hit Bollywood film ‘Devdas’ played by Ashwariya Rai (2000), Shreya fast became one of the lead female playback singers in the industry.
Since working on ‘Devdas’ with Bhansali, Shreya went on to sing for many famous actresses under the baton of many established music directors in Bollywood for movies and various television series such as ‘Saloni’ (Saat Phere – Saloni Ka Safar), which is broadcast on Zee TV and Zee World across Africa.
Today, Goshal has made a name for herself in Bollywood and around the world as a bilingual singer.
She even went on to become one of the three judges on ‘X-Factor India’ alongside Sonu Nigam and Bhansali and also judged for Star Voice of India Chhote Ustaad with Kunal Ganjawala and Pritam.
On her South African tour she is expected to thrill her local fans with hits like ‘Deewani Mastani’ (Baijaro Mastani), ‘Sunn Raha Hai’ (Aashiqui 2), ‘Teri Meri’ (Bodyguard), ‘Manwa Laage’ (Happy New Year) and ‘Nagada Sang Dhol’ (Ram Leela), just to name a few.
