‘Love & Prozac’, the smash-hit comedy on the horrors of dating in your thirties by Sonia Esgueira (of ‘Porra’ and ‘Porralicious’ fame), has finally come to Johannesburg. The show has played major venues across the country to critical and audience acclaim and Jozi audiences can now catch the show at the POPArt theatre in the Maboneng Precinct for a few performances only – until Sunday, January 31. ‘Love & Prozac’ earned Esgueira a MBOKODO Award nomination for excellence in the field of comedy.
The show finds Esgueira playing 13 side splittingly funny characters in what is being billed as “the naughty girls’ (mis)guide to dating, bonking and other disasters!”
Directed by the Emmy nominated John Trengove (‘The Epicene Butcher’), this award winning team are bringing you a new and utterly hilarious comedy on navigating the dating jungle.
From Sea Point trophy wives, sleazy sugar daddies, speed dating, Indian love gurus, sozzled Portuguese mothers, trance parties and Sangoma’s, this comedy is jam packed with memorable South African characters and razor sharp wit.
* Performances are taking place at 8pm nightly from Thursday to Saturday, January 28 to 30, and on Sunday, January 31, at 3.30pm.
