Each year, as the summer days lengthen, the Two Oceans Aquarium extends its opening hours, affording visitors the opportunity to experience the Aquarium’s underwater wonders, for longer. From December 21 to January 8, the Aquarium will be open from 9am to 8pm (last ticket sold at 7.30pm) – perfect for those who like to start their holiday days a little earlier and extend them a little longer.
Combine your visit to the Aquarium with an explorative boat trip on the Ocean Adventurer. Tickets are available at the Aquarium ticket office and the adult combo tickets costs R375 for a 90-minute marine eco-safari in Table Bay and a visit to the Aquarium.
During the festive season, the Aquarium’s AfriSam Children’s Play Centre will have jam-packed festive season programme on offer. The little ones can enjoy themed arts and crafts as well as the ever-popular puppet shows. Everyone will have a fun time meeting the Aquarium mascots. Remember to take a selfie or gather the family for a group shot.
The Aquarium’s on-site restaurant, Shoreline Café will, during extended hours, remain open later with the kitchen closing only at 6.30pm.
Stuck for gift ideas? Why not include some special experiences? From day tickets, which when bought online affords a 10% discount, diving with the sharks and memberships for young and old, there is sure to be something to make gift buying this festive season just a little bit easier.
So, after a day of fun in the sun or in the hustle and bustle of the shopping arena, why not visit the Aquarium, cool down and relax for a while in its tranquil ambiance, take in some underwater scenery and end your day surrounded by the calm of the ocean. Also keep in mind that your ticket is valid for the whole day so you are able to see early morning fish-capades, lunch-time penguin shenanigans and evening shark serenity. With extended hours, gift membership, diving and loads of fun for the little ones, the Aquarium is certainly a destination to consider these holidays.
