Rising young Dutch DJ set for SA shores

The young and talented DJ and pianist, Sophie Francis will be in South Africa this December. She will be playing to an expected 20000 people at St Francis Bay’s famous New Year’s Eve Bash: ‘The Ruins’.
Francis composes her own tracks, working with a production team in Europe. She is releasing eight new singles next year. Her tracks received great feedback from international DJ’s as well as Showtek and W&W.
She started developing her music when she was nine years old, taking piano lessons and experimenting with music software. At 16 she got noticed by one of the top DJ Producers in Europe, John Dirne aka John

Christian, and worked with him at his studio complex. Recently she signed with Always Management.
Previously known as Sophie’s Choice, she changed her name earlier this year to reflect her love for the beautiful chilled beach town of St Francis on the Garden Route.
She lived in St Francis Bay for six months each year until she was ten, before moving back to The Netherlands permanently.

“When I play piano letting my mind blow away, it always goes back to St Francis Bay. It has a special space in my heart.”
Francis’s sound is a mix of big-room, electro and progressive house. A perfect peak time banging formula, that sets the crowd on fire. “I love to create emotions with my compositions, and dance music has my heart because of the high energy and amazing feelings that it brings,” she explains.
