The AUC (Actors Unemployed Company) will be presenting their festive season, Rhumbelow Theatre family show ‘Scrooge: A Christmas Carol’, which will show at the Umbilo venue from Saturday, December 12, to January 10.
Adapted for the stage from the classic tale by Charles Dickens, ‘Scrooge’ will set forth to capture the very essence of this beloved story with all the characters from the original tale. Dickens’ heart-warming story leads the audience through one very special Christmas Eve, where Ebenezer Scrooge must confront the ghosts of his past…his present…and his future.
Only if he changes his miserly ways and learns the true meaning of Christmas will he be able to avoid his fate.
The cast includes AUC regulars Marc Kay (‘Thrice Upon a Time’, ‘Penelope Pixie’) and Adam Dore (‘Froggie Fairy Tale’, ‘The Pied Piper of Hamelin’) and will include their signature style of shadow puppetry, as well as all the thrills, spills and chills of this iconic tale.
Make sure to bring your little ones along to the Rhumbelow for a fun-filled adventure with lots of audience interaction.
Rhumbelow Kid’s Shows are entirely load shedding proof, so no matter what happens to the grid, the show will go on
After the show, a short workshop will be held on “basic puppet manipulation” (run by the performers, and at no extra cost).
Snacks and juices will be on sale for those who might be a bit famished.
* Tickets are R60 for this Rhumbelow Theatre showcase and can be booked at Computicket, or by calling 083 250 2690; or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
