Watching a movie is as much about the experience as it is about the story unfolding on the big screen. With that in mind, Cinema Nouveau has undertaken a complete refurbishment of its popular cinema complex situated at the V&A Waterfront.
The six-theatre site now boasts a newly-designed foyer area as one enters the complex, and the introduction of the new Nouveau Café upstairs. The designer café offers an array of food and drinks, including bespoke coffee, cakes and chocolates, and a cheese platter. Additions to the menu will include a range of wines and craft beers, and gourmet café food items such as sandwiches, salads and burgers.
The new-look cinemas are finally ready for art-house movie lovers, after having undergone renovations over the past few months.
The cinema foyer area downstairs portrays a refreshed, light and modern style. The upstairs area has been transformed into the Nouveau Café – the social hub of the complex, where customers can enjoy the menu both before and after the movie.
The cheese platter will include cheddar, cream cheese with black pepper and white rock with cranberries. This can be paired with various wines, when available.
When it comes to the coffee and cake choices, options include a walnut truffle cake, New York cheesecake or the decadent four-layer carrot cake. The coffee is freshly-brewed from imported coffee beans from the Helmut Sachers Kaffee Stambulia range, and promises to satisfy the most sophisticated coffee aficionado’s palate.
Also on offer is a range of imported chocolates. These include organic chocolate with Love Sea Salt and a 71% dark chocolate variant.
