With more than 60 traders bringing their wares to market, an abundance of fresh locally-grown vegetables, fruit, herbs and other ingredients are available. Stock the pantry with an array of bread, cheese, nuts, olive oil, spices, yoghurt, honey, ethically sourced meats, biltong, fish, and more. If you’re feeling puckish, artisanal food traders serve breakfast and lunch fare to eat at the market or for takeaway, as well as coffees, teas, juices, smoothies and other items. All tastes are catered for including vegan, banting, gluten-free, sugar-free and other dietary preferences.

Good Night Market 

Already well known as a home for African craft and design, the Watershed has recently added a new event to Cape Town’s monthly schedule.  The Good Night Market, is a monthly event celebrating local and continental arts and creativity by bringing a creative showcase to the Watershed for visitors to enjoy. Each month visitors are in for a surprise, as a different creative offering is showcased at the market, from photography exhibitions and art displays to live music and performance art.  Food trucks, a drinks bar and live music will entertain visitors while they browse the Watershed’s offerings and the month’s creative showcase.

Fashion in the Village Market

The monthly market is the passion project of Cape Town local and fashion guru Kim Speer, who also runs the weekly Friday night Blue Bird Garage Food and Goods Market out of the same space (an old converted postal plane hangar in the heart of the suburb). While she gives much of her attention to the regular evening event, she launched the vibey daytime clothing and design fair in an effort to find expression for her long-time love of beautiful attire.
