Intimate concert series in Woodstock

Intimate concert series in Woodstock

Woodstock Academy of Music (WAM) will be hosting nightly shows in a space set up for an intimate audience experience from Tuesday to Saturday, June 2 to 6. Each night will feature either a single or double bill.

WAM will be showcasing a variety of local and international talent across different genres, from Jazz to Electronica, providing audiences with a chance to get up close and personal with these inspiring artists and to not only hear what they play, but also a little bit of what they have to say about what makes them tick.

Francesca Biancoli (acoustic guitar) will open the concert series on June 2. Biancoli started singing and playing guitar at an early age, performing in many shows, musicals and concerts. She has won many competitions in Italy and in 2013 won the Arcevia Music Prize, which brought her to Cape Town, where she now lives and continues her music career as a singer and guitarist.

Another highlight on the itinerary is Original Swimming Party. This three piece experimental electronica band from Cape Town will be taking to the stage on Friday, June 5.

The group’s music has been described as moving from soft, gentle and beautiful harmony and melody into massive drones, glitches, bloops and bleeps.

* Tickets are R90.
