Two other plays ending this week pay homage to two extraordinary teachers whose personalities and stature each made an impact on the Cape Flats as well as internationally. ‘Cold Case: Revisiting Dulcie September’ pays tribute to feisty activist Dulcie September who was assassinated in Paris while ‘My Word! Redesigning Buckingham Palace’ focuses on well-known writer Richard Rive, who was brutally murdered at his home.
‘Cold Case: Revisiting Dulcie September’ is directed by Basil Appollis and won two coveted awards at the 2014 National Arts Festival. ‘My Word! Redesigning Buckingham Palace’, directed by Sandra Temmingh returns to the Baxter after a successful West End season in London where it received raved reviews from audiences and the media.
