It is time to put on those geek-sheek spectacles and visit Tyger Valley Centre. This winter school holiday the Centre will be offering a fun and educational experience for young and old. From May 11 to July 26 the Tyger Wizlab will be taking place in the Arena daily.
With various activities on offer, the entire family is invited to be entertained and fascinated by the World of Science. Not only does Tyger Valley aim to provide interactive science, technology and design experiences, they will also cater for high quality learning experiences through innovative and exciting interactive exhibits and hands-on workshops.
Some of the exhibits and activities to look forward to include: daily live science experiments by Penny Proton; giant Jenga and Chess sets; optical illusion booths; musical pipes, demonstrating how hollow pipes generates sound through vibrating air; displays and comparisons of the speed and size of our solar system; and kids construction play areas. The latest and greatest technologies will be on offer allowing patrons to try it out, feel and touch it. The Tyger Wizlab will also be offering interactive lectures, touching on science, technology and design. This offering is definitely not just for the youngsters. Parents and grandparents are more than welcome at the Wizlab.
* Entrance into the Wizlab is free of charge. However, tickets are required for the workshops and are available from www.eventbrite.com at R20 per person (excluding the Taste of Robotics workshop).
Trading hours: Monday to Saturday from 9am to 7pm; and Sundays from 9am to 5pm.
